TIRANA, May 17 /ATA/ The Charge d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Tirana, David Wisner and embassy staff traveled to Vlora this Friday to visit the American Corner, where they met with young leaders involved in STEM programs and in countering disinformation, English language learning and environmental activism.
He also had the opportunity to see the results of the “AI for Good” initiative, which utilizes artificial intelligence to address local community needs and he joined the Vlora Outdoor Ambassadors Club at Soda Forest Beach to learn about their efforts in environmental protection.
While in Vlore, Mr. Wisner met with officials from the Embassy-supported Vatra Psycho-Social Center which offers important services to victims of trafficking and domestic violence. He also met with Mayor Ermal Dredha as well as with Police Oversight Agency Regional Director Glodian Ahmetaj to reiterate the importance of accountability and transparency toward the goal of justice reform, and partnerships for improving local law enforcement efforts.
