New legal initiative in Assembly: Revaluation of immovable property at 3% tax

TIRANA, May 15/ATA/ Lawmaker of the Socialist Party Blerina Gjylameti submitted to the Assembly the legal initiative that provides for the revaluation of real estate according to the market value.

The submitted draft law offers the opportunity for citizens and businesses to revalue their properties against a 3% tax for the difference between the registered value and the market value.

The deadline for revaluation is proposed until June 31, 2025.

“All individuals, who own real estate, have the right from the date of entry into force of this law until June 31, 2025, to make the revaluation of their property according to the market value,” the proposed draft law from Gjylameti reads.

Therefore, the law provides that the revaluation is done by an expert licensed for the valuation of immovable property, by the relevant institutions or by the local offices of the State Cadastre Agency.

The draft law also defines how the value that citizens will have to pay will be calculated.

The opportunity for real estate revaluation is also available for businesses.

This is the fifth revaluation process proposed to be carried out. The first property revaluation was carried out in 2012. Then it was in 2013, in 2016-2017 and the last one was in 2020-2022./p.s./
