TIRANA, May 11 /ATA/ – The National Strategy for Migration (2024-2030) and the Action Plan entered into force after having been published on the Official Gazette on Saturday and the document focuses on effective management of migratory flows, promotion of migrants’ social rights and their integration into the society.
The main objectives of this document, aiming at supporting the Albanian integration process in the EU, are: guaranteeing the strategic governance of migration in Albania, developing effective migration policies for employment purposes and increasing the positive impact of migration on national and local socio-economic development, promotion of regular migration and protection of migrants’ rights and their integration into Albanian society.
The strategy is also designed to ensure sustainable reintegration of Albanian citizens, who return back home until 2030, as well as the effective management of migratory flows, where the priority is the protection of vulnerable groups.
The Strategy also includes measures to facilitate and promote the return of qualified immigrants to Albania and capitalize on their potential for the country’s economic development through promotion of their human and investment capital, the creation of information packages on the process of return and reintegration, as well as labor market conditions. The document also envisages the measures, the opportunities and the procedures for integration of foreign nationals for employment purposes in Albania, as well as ways to improve activity of private employment agencies and employers, with the aim of implementing ethical employment standards.
