TIRANA, May 2/ATA/ The legal changes for passports and biometric documents will soon pave the way for the production of digital identification documents.
Interior Minister Taulant Balla said today during a briefing after the government meeting that, “The preparation of legal changes for passports and biometric documents is about an important change that responds to the technological developments of the time”.
“Albania must issue as soon as possible the production of digital identification documents. We are working with a relevant company while the law enables us to produce them,” said Balla.
According to him, the purpose is that all the documents that citizens keep in their wallets, such as IDs, licenses, bank cards, etc., are digital, kept on everyone’s phone.
“That’s why this law is important because it paves the way for the company to proceed with the production of digital documents”, stressed Balla./r.e/p.s./
