TIRANA, April 13 /ATA/ Innovation, digital technology and artificial intelligence were the highlight of the 12th episode of the third season of Prime Minister Edi Rama’s “Flasim” Podcast, where Denisa Kele, lecturer and Kushtrim Shala, innovation consultant, head of the National Association of Technology appeared as guests.
“The other world” was the topic that the prime minister chose to address in this episode, where he highlighted some of Albania’s benefits from the use of artificial intelligence.
In this regard, the prime minister underlined that the public procurement process will be completely digital, including the automatic evaluation of the fulfillment of the criteria for the qualification of bidders in the first phase of pre-qualification.
Rama said that the procurement of public funds could lead to dire consequences such as corruption which is the most outrageous part.
According to him, “with the artificial intelligence, we neutralize this great source of corruption and turn public procurement into a transparent and readable process.
“Procurement are a serious concern associated with many consequences and from where the most disgusting part of the scourge of corruption originates. We conduct thousands of procurement processes a year which require tens of thousands of committee members, people who have to participate. All these people must have the necessary legal knowledge for what they are doing. Those people who get involved in those procedures are people who do other work but get involved in that procedure”, he said.
Rama emphasized that by means of the artificial intelligence model we can completely overcome this problem.
To lecturer Denisa Kele, Albania has all the capacities to turn into a technological state.
“We have the opportunity to be a more ‘techno-friendly’ country, we have the opportunity to have human resources, to be a digital state. Albania can be a technological state, it has all the necessary capacities to be,” she said.
