TIRANA, April 2 /ATA/ Minister of State for Local Government, Arbjan Mazniku, stated that, “the government is working in the second half of 2024 to significantly increase the salaries of municipal employees in order to improve the quality of services to citizens.”
Mazniku emphasized that, “in this effort, the municipalities must also do their part by recruiting a qualified and trained personnel that has results in collecting revenues and serving our citizens with dignity.”
He said that, in the meeting held together with the colleagues of the Ministry of Finance, we also shared insights how to improve allocation of grants to local governments, introducing for the first time performance-based financing.
“Municipalities that perform better will receive more money”, emphasized Mazniku.
