Karçanaj: Albania will benefit from UN commitment to cyberspace protection

TIRANA, March 7 /ATA/ “Albania will support and benefit from the UN’s commitment to new measures for cyberspace protection,” the director of the National Information Society Agency (AKSHI), Linda Karçanaj, said in her remarks before the members of the United Nations and our allies.

Karçanaj announced tha the 7th session of the OEWG decided that cooperation between countries will be developed through the efficiency of Confidence-Building Measures that will build new communication bridges between countries to minimize risks in case of cyber attacks.
The CBM, she emphasized, will serve for a better cooperation and expertise between the states in any case of need.

“For this reason, I strongly supported the creation of the global platform of points of contact (Global PoC Directory), which will help states to increase mutual trust and share information. We believe that global contact points will serve for better cooperation and expertise between states in case of cyber crises”, said Karçanaj.

According to her, the involvement of all the main actors in the field of cyber security, such as the private sector, business, industry, academia or civil society, are one more guarantee to ensure protection.
