TIRANA, February 28/ATA/ Under the chair Arben Pëllumbi, the Committee for Production Activities, Trade and Environment held its routine online meeting on the “Zoom” platform, during which it reviewed the draft law “On Water Resources”.
The guests to the meeting were Gerta Lubonja, director of the Water Resources Management Agency and Anduen Karagjozi.
Chairman Pëllumbi said that the proceedings today will continue with the discussion, item by item, of the draft law since in the previous sessions it was discussed in principle and there were held the public consultation sessions.
Also, Pëllumbi emphasized once again that this draft law was drawn up as part of the legal package, within the framework of the complete alignment of Albanian legislation in the field of water resources management with the acquis of the European Union in this field, through the support of the project ” European Union support for integrated water management in Albania”, financed by the EU and ADA.
One of the components of this project is, “Improving the legal framework in the field of water resources management”.
The purpose of the draft law is to protect water resources through their conservation, development and rational use, as a necessary thing for the life and social-economic development of the country.
The meeting continued with discussions on certain articles of the draft law and at the end the members of the committee approved the draft law “On water resources”, article by article and as a whole, together with the relevant amendments./r.e/p.s./
