TIRANA, Feb 21 /ATA/ The Institute of Statistics has kicked off the preparatory phase for the implementation of the Agriculture census.
The director of INSTAT, Elsa Dhuli, said that, “this census will be based on the answers to the questionnaire on the back of the Population and Housing Census, respectively the part on agriculture, as well as additional information with 4 registers made available by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.”
Dhuli said during the meeting held on Wednesday with the members of the Economy Committee, that “students from the Agricultural University mentored by trained pollsters will also be involved as pollsters.”
The Census of Agriculture will provide information on specific modules, on all agricultural farms, related to: irrigation, land management practices, machinery and equipment, horticulture, etc.
The Census of Agriculture will also provide data on the layout of agriculture, especially for small administrative units.
In order to conduct this census, INSTAT is cooperating closely with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
