TIRANA, February 14/ATA/ After the Municipality of Korça, the Ministry of Education and Sports signed the agreement for the Student Card with the municipality of Elbasan.
Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu and Mayor of Elbasan Gledian Llatja signed the relevant agreement. The political leader of Elbasan region Damian Gjiknuri and Rector of “Aleksandër Xhuvani” University Skënder Topi were also present at the ceremony.
This agreement is an important step towards providing more opportunities for the students of the University of Elbasan, to have access with reduced or free fees to public, social-cultural and private services.
At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Sports has among its priorities the revitalization and construction of educational infrastructure, as well as the provision of scholarships and other support programs for the students.
“There are about 50,000 students who are supported by the Albanian government through reduced fees, subsidized fees or scholarships for students. At the University of Elbasan, over 40% of students receive support. This year we have supported 350 students with scholarships equal to the minimum wage in all universities of the country, students of excellence but also those of priority branches, with the aim of motivating them to support them to work after completing their studies in our institutions “, said Manastirliu./k.s/p.s./
