“Early Albanian masters”, conversation at COD with author Varvarica

TIRANA, February 13/ATA/ “Early Albanian masters” is the book of the author Suzana Varvarica, selected this month for the project of the Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD), “We read our authors”. Varvarica is well-known not only as a researcher, but also as the author of many works of art in sculpture, which can be found in public parks or our national institutions.

“We read our authors” this month comes as a cooperation event between COD and “Qemal Stafa” high school, Tirana. The book “Early Albanian Masters” in itself deals with twenty masters of the art of painting and sculpture, about whom, perhaps, it has not been read and heard before. They and their selected works are part of the history of Albanian art of the beginning and middle of the 20th century. Their life and creativity, dates and places of birth, historical and social background, education and artistic formation come through the author’s conversation with the students.

Varvarica is first of all a sculptor by profession, without hindering her involvement in different fields, from sculpture, cinematography and the philosophy of modern arts. /p.s./
