TIRANA, February 13/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama is in Dubai today, where he participated in the World Governments’ Summit panel on the role of technology in addressing current challenges with the former British prime minister Tony Blair.
Speaking about cyber security, Rama said that, “We are working with two of the greatest knowledge and technology giants of our time, with Microsoft and Oracle, and we are trying to get the best of both”.
“Having faced a rather massive attack from Iran some time ago and being a permanent target of cyber attacks from Iran, we are aware of the significance of having safe data”, said Rama.
“Oracle’s cloud format, it is another important effort to have security and inviolability of data”, said Rama.
“Meanwhile, with Microsoft, we are working on artificial intelligence solutions for which we are very optimistic. We expect they will give us a big incentive to feel the future much closer than at present,” said Rama.
Asked on difficulty of introduction of technology into Albania’s system, Rama said that, “I think it is more difficult in Germany and Britain, because big countries, developed countries also have highly developed bureaucratic machinery, which was built in other times and are like huge ships that have to turn, while ours is only a small boat. And to jump off this boat and take on the new technology as an opportunity is a blessing. Of course, we do have resistance, but it is mostly the resistance of the lazy and of the bureaucracy. So, I don’t see this as one of the main challenges”./p.s./
