Foreign policy committee approves national security strategy

TIRANA, February 6/ATA/ The Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Policy took under examination today the bill, “On the National Security strategy of the Republic of Albania”.

Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Artemis Malo said that through this draft law, the national security strategy document will be part of the acts of the highest level and will serve as a legal authorization for the approval of other cross-sectoral strategies.

“The strategy is the basic document for national security and aims to guide the country in fulfilling its national security priorities,” said Malo.

The relator of the draft law Petro Koçi said that we are dealing with one of the most important national security documents produced by the Republic of Albania.

“The document carries the principles of sectoral strategies as included in a single document”, said Koçi.

After questions and discussions, the committee approved in principle, article by article and in its entirety the draft law in question./p.s./
