PM Kurti: Kosovo’s EU integration should be separated from normalisation dialogue with Serbia

PRISTINA, Jan 26 /ATA/ – Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated Friday that the country’s European Union accession process should be separated from the relations with Serbia and the EU-mediated normalisation dialogue.

Kurti said that Serbia should be held accountable for the state of the Kosovo-Serbia relations, but the relations between the two countries should not influence the EU integration process.

The Premier said that compared to Serbia, “Kosovo is a champion in all aspects.”

He added that “EU requires good neighbourly relations, but such relations are inexistent and Belgrade is to be blamed for this.”

Kurti also commented on the ongoing petitions on discharge of the mayors in the Serb-dominated municipalities in the country’s north.
