TIRANA, January 11/ATA/ The Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime sent for trial defendant Gazmend Canaj accused of committing the criminal offense of “Active corruption in elections”.
“According to evidence, it is confirmed that defendant Gazmend Canaj offered to different people economic benefits to vote in a certain way, in support of the political party that Gazmend supported in the general parliamentary elections in Tirana region, dated April 25, 2021”, is read in a press release of SPAK.
“It is confirmed that defendant Gazmend Canaj has offered and given food to citizens of G.K. and E.G. as well as offered illegal benefits to citizens of S.K., R.C. and F.R., in exchange for their and their relatives vote in favor of the political party that Gazmend supported”, is read further in the SPAK press release./m.m/p.s./
