Special Court postpones ruling on ex-PM Berisha case

TIRANA, Dec 27 /ATA/ – The Special Court against Corruption and Organised Crime in Tirana decided again Wednesday to postpone the ruling on the request made by prosecutors to place former Prime Minister and chairman of the Democratic Party’s Reestablishment faction Sali Berisha under house arrest.

The decision will be announced on Thursday at 3 pm.

Earlier today, the Court overturned a request by Berisha’s layers to disqualify Judge Irena Gjoka on the case for conflict of interest.

The ex-PM Berisha  has been charged by prosecutors with passive corruption in a matter involving the privatization of a sports complex during the time he served as PM
