TIRANA, Dec 11 /ATA/ The DP Secretary for Public Relations, Edvin Kulluri, told a media briefing that, “DP appreciates the in-depth investigation of SPAK, regarding the role of the Municipality of Tirana in the Incinerators affair.”
He added that “public opinion is waiting for the highest officials of the Municipality, such as the Mayor and the General Administrator to be held liable.
According to him, “the Mayor of Tirana has personally committed in writing, through the annexes of the agreement with the Ministry of Environment, that he takes full responsibility for the financial obligations under the contract on Landfill of Sharra, for a service that was never offered.”
“The mayor of Tirana represents the highest legal authority in relations with third parties, specifically the company that did not offer even one day of waste incineration,” Kulluri said.
Kulluri said that, “we encourage SPAK and SCCOC to continue in-depth investigations, not only for Tirana Municipality, but all the municipalities that have embezzled Albanian taxpayers’ money.
“The Democratic Party reiterates the efforts of justice institutions for impartial investigation and judgment and equality before the law for every official and citizen of the Republic of Albania,” the DP Secretary for Public Relations , Edvin Kulluri, said.
