TIRANA, Dec 7 /ATA/ Tirana Airport Partners reported a 133.7% increase in passenger traffic in October this year, compared to October 2022, according to the Airports Council International (ACI).

According to ACI data, passenger traffic in Europe has almost fully recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic, recording an increase of 11.7% in October compared to the same period in 2022.

ACI Europe Director General Olivier Jankovec, commenting on the figures, spoke of a full recovery of passenger traffic for Europe’s airports in October, defying a rise of over 36% in air fares and the conflict in Israel that heightened geopolitical tensions.

Regional and smaller airports continued to exceed pre-pandemic passenger traffic levels in October, demonstrating an impressive 9.1% growth.

While passenger traffic at the main European airports, London Heathrow, Istanbul, Paris-CDG, Amsterdam Schiphol and Frankfurt, increased by 14.6%, compared to October 2022.
