Census, Veliaj appeals to citizens to register

TIRANA, Nov 11 /ATA/ When there are still a few days left before the closing of the census process, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, held a meeting with the administrators of the local govt. units in the capital. He took the opportunity to appeal to the citizens and invited them to register because in this way, it will be easier for the government and municipality to know where they should invest.

“Given that the majority of Albania’s population lives in Tirana, the biggest challenge is for Tirana to be identified and counted as a whole. The deadline that the government gave us, until November 15, is a diary that should be maximized by each of us. For those who are not at home, we have a phone number – 0800 22 44 – where they can book an appointment at their convenience,” said Veliaj.

The mayor added that these remaining days should be used in the best way, to enable a better governance. He listed several areas in Tirana that have been developed and populated significantly, stressing that every citizen must be registered.
