TIRANA, November 9/ATA/- The opposition MPs attempted to disrupt again today the normal proceedings of the plenary session of the Assembly.
After blocking the rostrum through stacking up the chairs on top of each other, the MPs threw smoke firecrackers.
Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla decided to suspend of the DP MP Saimir Korreshi from the session and asked the Guard officers to remove any bonfire from the hall.
“You are suspended; vacate the hall, Mr. Korreshi. Guard, please remove the bonfires!”, said Nikola.
Amid this chaos created by the opposition, the ruling majority continued the proceedings with the approval of the draft laws carried in the agenda.
The opposition demands the setting up of investigative commissions and inclusion in the electoral reform commission.
Head of the Democratic Party Re-foundation Commission Sali Berisha stated that the opposition action and civil disobedience will continue because they have been denied of their constitutional rights.
Speaking to reporters, Berisha said that, “The alternative to this decision would be a boycott, but Edi Rama would prefer the boycott, hence we will not satisfy him”, added Berisha./p.s./
