Hungarian Week of Culture, a combination of painting, chess and music

TIRANA, November 3/ATA/ The first day of the Hungarian Week of Culture was a unique mixture of chess and music in the “Chess ‘n Jazz” event at the “Kalo” Art Gallery. Hungarian Grandmaster Imre Balog played simultaneously against 20 young players from the Chess Club of the “Qemal Stafa” high school. The gallery was transformed into a lively arena where the strategic silence of chess mingled with jazz tunes. This was the essence of “Hungarissimo” – an innovative celebration of tradition with a contemporary twist.

Parallel to the tunes of “Chess ‘n Jazz”, the “Kalo” Art Gallery also staged an exhibition dedicated to the legacy of Sándor Petőfi, the national poet of Hungary, whose works and ardent patriotism have left an indelible trace on Hungarian history. .

The first day was crowned by the “Hungarian Night” gala evening. Under the moderation of Balina Bodinaku, “Hungarian Night” was a mixture of Hungarian and Albanian art, of operatic and instrumental brilliance. The stage got enlivened by the voices of the great Albanian tenors Kastriot Tusha and Josif Gjipali and their exciting arias. They were joined by soprano Ardita Meni.

Also, Zeqir Sulkuqi’s violin performance was a poignant narrative in itself, telling stories through the soft and vigorous movements of his bow. The “Egnatia” ensemble further enriched the program, combining individual into a harmonious collective art./p.s./
