Denaj receives Swiss ambassador

TIRANA, Oct 25 /ATA/ Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, on Wednesday hosted the Ambassador of Switzerland to Albania, Ruth Huber, in a meeting.

Denaj informed that the meeting focused on the support that this country offers to Albanian agriculture.
“Through projects to strengthen the value chain and develop regulatory capacities, we aim to achieve the standards required by the EU market, bringing us closer to the target of 1 billion dollars in agricultural exports by 2030,” said Minister Denaj.

At the same time, Denaj said that the meeting also explored the possibility of supporting secondary education in vocational agricultural schools, to orient young people towards this field.

Cooperation between Switzerland and Albania began in the early 90s. SDC and SECO have supported Albania with almost 130 million Swiss francs, contributing to social development as well as the development of the market economy.
