PM Kurti says no normalization can happen without security in Kosovo

PRISTINA, Oct 20 /ATA/ – Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated Friday that the ties between Pristina and Belgrade cannot normalize should the rule of law and security is fully established throughout the territory of the country.

Answering to reporters about tomorrow’s visit by five Western envoys representing the U.S., Germany, France, Italy, and the U.K, PM Kurti reiterated that normalization of the relations between the two countries cannot happen if security if fully established in Kosovo.

“Tomorrow we will find out what they will be asking or what they will offer. All I can say is that no normalization can take place without security and security should be a top priority for all state institutions, for the society and the people,” Kurti told reporters during an event in Shtime.

A delegation dubbed the ‘Greater Five’ will arrive for a crucial diplomatic mission in Kosovo and Serbia on Saturday. The delegation also includes the Special US Envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues, Miroslav Lajčák, as well as the envoys from Germany, France, Italy and the United States of America and they will hold talks with PM Kurti and the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

As far as dialogue between the two countries is concerned, the PM said Kosovo has been constructive so far, while he blamed Serbia for failing to implement it.
