TIRANA, Oct 19 /ATA/ The Albanian Football Federation joined on Thursday the nationwide appeal for annual screening as part of the fight against breast cancer in women.
Before the friendly match Albania vs. Bulgaria, the children improvised a pink ribbon on the green field.
Appreciating this powerful message from the green field, Prime Minister Edi Rama described not only the power of football and our national team as exceptional this year, but also the awareness about the fight against breast cancer.
“Fight like an eagle! The power of football and our national team in this fantastic football year has been incredible. Equally exceptional is the awareness about the fight against breast cancer, with a significant message from the green field of ‘Air Albania'”, said Rama.
According to the World Health Organization, appeal campaigns for Pink October have been powerful.
The purpose of “Pink October” is to raise the awareness of as many women over the age of 40 as possible to perform periodic breast check-ups and attend screening appointments. In the first 15 days of this month, 4331 examinations and mammograms were performed.
