TIRANA, Oct 16 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama, in his remarks at a joint press conference with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, focused on the importance of the Berlin Process Summit for Albania, the region and the European Union itself.
“This is an unforgettable day that is ending pretty differently from all the forecast by the ‘Apple’ weather app. Our wish to host our friends as best as possible was stronger than any weather forecast that anticipated a rainy day throughout last week. Yet, this was not the case. I am grateful to God and the EU that this day was to start off wonderfully sunny and would end with a pleasant breeze,” PM Rama said.
The government head noted that the Berlin Process Summit in Tirana ended with quite productive discussions, really open exchanges and a true sense of friendship.
“I would never be able to find the proper words to express appreciation to Chancellor Scholz, who was so graciously open to the idea of taking the Berlin Process outside the EU, precisely to Tirana. I wouldn’t also be able to find the right words to appreciate the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for something really substantial through the new EU growth plan for the Western Balkans,” PM Rama said.
