TIRANA, Oct 9 /ATA/ As one of the municipalities hit the hardest by the November 26, 2019 earthquake, Shijaku has benefited significantly from the Reconstruction program, investments that include the construction of buildings in new residential neighborhoods, houses, educational facilities, but also the access infrastructure as a whole.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared views of Shijaku today, where the residents have moved into the new apartments, built up to the best standards.
Initially in Shijak, the work focused on the construction of the new water supply and sanitation infrastructure, to continue with the construction of individual housing units, 31 new buildings with 660 apartments, as well as educational facilities.
The investments have not only significantly transformed the lives of the families affected by the earthquake, but also the urban conditions of the town itself.
In Shijak, there are about 49,800 square meters for housing alone, and another 25,200 are ancillary facilities that serve the entire community.
