TIRANA, October 10/ATA/ At the National Theater of Opera and Ballet in Tirana, there was successfully performed the musical show “Callas e Onassis”, more than a decade that the Opera and Ballet House had lacked a musical.
“Last evening, thanks to the cooperation with the artists of the Varna Theater, the Symphony Orchestra and the Opera and Ballet House Choir, we managed to put on the stage the musical “Callas e Onassis”, which tells the love story of the opera diva Maria Callas and the famous billionaire Aristotle Onassis”, wrote in the social media Director of Opera and Ballet House Abigeila Voshtina.
The musical was played in Albania on the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Greek soprano Maria Callas and it was part of an agreement with the Varna Theatre signed at the beginning of the current year.
Thanks to this agreement, the theaters of the two countries will have the opportunity to exchange different artists and directors, as well as choir conductors that the Artistic Calendar 2023 carries.
One of them was the Albanian staging of the large-scale production “AIDA” directed by Franko Zeffirelli while Ada Gurra and the mexo-soprano Ivana Hoxha helped it be put on the stage at the Varna Theater as well./p.s./
