TIRANA, Sept 30 /ATA/ The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, continued this Saturday the tour of door-to-door meetings with citizens in unit 4 in Tirana.
According to the press office of the Democratic Party, “he stopped in the area of “Oxhak” and near the “Bajram Curri” school, where he met with citizens, traders and entrepreneurs there. The discussion revolved around the economic and political situation in the country.”
In the press release, the DP announced that Basha got acquainted with their overlapping problems, such as the price hike, soaring taxes and fees, the decrease in purchasing power, high unemployment, which have made their life difficult, especially for pensioners.
“The money of the citizens today end up in the pockets of a handful of oligarchs with ties to the government,” Basha emphasized, adding that “the economy today is captured by the interests of a small group, connected to corrupt officials and it doesn’t offer them the opportunities they deserve.”
“We support and encourage SPAK to end impunity at high levels and demand lifting of immunity for parliamentarians and government officials who are investigated by SPAK”, – Basha said.
Citizens have also welcomed the proposal made by DP for open lists and the vetting of politicians.
