Rama: Three young people from Shkodra develop AI solution to ease traffic

TIRANA, Sept 22 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama on Friday shared the achievement of three young people from Shkodra, who through artificial intelligence and the coding program were able to develop an innovative project to ease traffic congestion in the city.

“Ermi, Gerti and Endri are the three talented young people from Shkodra’s “28 Nentori” high school, who won the first place in the INTEL AI international festival, with their breakthrough for the relief of traffic in the city, an innovative project, through artificial intelligence, thanks to the Coding program and the amazing work of ICT teachers,” Rama emphasized.

Ermi Tafili, Endri Zaganjori and Gerti Dermani triumphed in this competition, with the project entitled “ASRV AI – System or Road Violations”, to provide solutions through artificial intelligence to ease traffic in the city of Shkodra.

Speaking about their project of using artificial intelligence to develop practical solutions, the students were eager to further expand their innovative idea.

“The idea for the development of ASRV AI was born during the summer season, to be honest, because of the traffic congestion created by both tourists and immigrants. Thanks to many programs we made it to the festival, but also with the support of the For Youth program and the teachers we were able to compete and win”, said Endri Zaganjori.

“We have thought of using a type of artificial intelligence to implement this type of system, after a violation occurs, the Police Station receives timely information about the place where this incident happens, about the license plate of the car and then a video of what happened, where the police can impose a fine or go themselves to inspect the incident on the spot”, said Ermi Tafili.

“This was the idea, to use it in the city of Shkodra and in the city of Tirana, to be later replicated all over Albania and made global”, said Gerti Dermani.
