TIRANA, September 7 /ATA/ Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla together with Mayor of Tirana Erion Velaj and leaders of local institutions and the State Police, the National Food Authority, the State Health Inspectorate held a coordination meeting to present the School Security Package.
Balla demanded the commitment of every institution to determine what will be known as the security perimeter.
The minister also informed that there is work underway on the amendments to the Criminal Code so that for some crimes there will be tougher measure.
Commercial businesses that get involved in criminal activity within school security perimeters will face the full force of the law, up to the closure and confiscation of their assets.
Also the means of transportation of students will be well-identified. Also, for food safety, there will be carried out increased controls throughout the country.
The minister said that, in order to increase public safety, investments in technology should be increased.
“The more cameras there are on the main streets of the city, in the alleys, the less problems we will have, so I am confident that we will make a difference in public safety issues and in particular, school safety issues”, stated the head of the Ministry of Interior./p.s./
