PM Rama: Let SPAK do its job

TIRANA, Sept 4 /ATA/ –  Prime Minister Edi Rama said the Special Prosecutor’s Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime, SPAK, a new justice body created as part of the judiciary overhaul in Albania, should be allowed to do its job.

“Let SPAK do its job, while you do your job. Be thankful to the people and this party for having been granted the privilege of being within such a small circle of the ones elected by the people and this party,” PM Rama said in his remarks at the National Assembly of the ruling Socialist Party (SP) on Monday.

The government head, also SP leader, voiced confidence that Albania will progress and join the European Union soon.

“What I do absolutely know is that if I were not to believe that this country can be built and if I were not to dream about the European Albania, I wouldn’t have joined politics upon an invitation of the long-time SP leader,” he said.
