TIRANA, Sept 1 /ATA/ – Germany congratulated Albania Friday on assuming the presidency of the UN Security Council for the second time since the country became part of this forum in January last year as non-permanent member.
German Embassy said in a post via the social media that Albania takes on a key role in maintaining world peace and security this month
“We wish Albania every success as it begins its second presidency of the United Nations Security Council. It takes on a key role in maintaining world peace and security this month,” German Embassy said.
“We thank Albania for its dedicated, responsible and strong commitment to the United Nations values, and its contribution to peace, conflict resolution and human rights protection at the global level. This is more important than ever, especially in times of the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine,” German Embassy stated in its post.
Albania took over the presidency of the UN Security Council on Friday.
