TIRANA, August 29/ATA/ During the early hours of Tuesday morning, there has been heavy rain in the region of Vlora, but thanks to the civil protection structures the rain caused no problems.
Prefect of Vlora region Flamur Memaj told the Albanian Telegraphic Agency that, “There were floods in some streets of the city of Vlora, but thanks to the commitment of the relevant civil protection structures in the prefecture and the Municipality, they caused no problems”.
According to him, “The public water and sewerage utility was ready to offer its services throughout the rainy hours this morning and to cope with the situation. The Prefecture communicated with all the municipalities yesterday, informing them of the expected weather situation; the population was also notified and the Civil Protection Commission set the respective tasks to cope with every situation that may occur caused by high-intensity rains”, said Memaj.
According to him, everything has gone smoothly. “The situation is calm all over region”, concluded Memaj. /p.s./
