Kumbaro: State Police pays attention even to environmental crime

TIRANA, August 7/ATA/ Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro thanked today the State Police for the attention shown to environmental crime, while appealing to citizens to throw refuse in the right place.

In a post in social media, Kumbaro shared a video, where police officers advice the drivers of passing cars to throw refuse in the right place.

“Thank you to the State Police that, although these days are rather busy for them, they are still attentive to punishing environmental crime! Like this case, who threw the bag of refuse out of the car window, as if the roads belong to the enemies and not ours. But, he drove back, took the bag, threw it in the waste bin, which was located only 5 meters away”, emphasized Kumbaro.

Kumbaro said that, “This is just another example of a mischief that we face every day together with the National Coastal Agency, the Police, the municipalities, when we have to react against irresponsible people who, to everyone’s shame, pollute as if they were doing nothing wrong and make an ugly place without racking one’s brains at all”.

Minister Kumbaro appealed to citizens to throw refuse in the bins.

“We can’t clean everyone with a broom, so throw the refuse in the bins, it’s that simple”, said Kumbaro.

Throughout the country, especially in the tourist areas, 24-hour work is being done to clean up waste, disinfect bins and wash the streets. /k.s/r.e/p.s./
