PRISTINA, Aug 7 /ATA/ – Kosovo’ Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla hailed a successful anti-drugs operation in north of the city of Mitrovice, stating that combating organized crime is a top priority.
Interior Minister also said that “situation in northern Kosovo is normalizing and Serbia won’t be able to threaten our state in any corner of the country.”
Sveçla said that ammunition and improvised explosive devices were also seized, an additional evidence of the violence against police officers, KFOR and EULEX members, and journalists in the Serb-dominated north.
“Fighting organized crime in every corner of the country is our priority. For over 20 years, the north of our state has mostly lived underground. Organized crime groups and illegal activities have flourished and, paradoxically, they have been the norm. This previous reality is fading each day. Our citizens without distinction want order, law and safety in place,” the Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla said.
