TIRANA, Aug 2 / ATA/ The head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, held a meeting with the political leaders of the Vlora region on Wednesday. Basha informed the political leaders that the DP will request a parliamentary investigation into the IPARD funds.
The meeting, Basha said in a post on social media, comes as part of the DP restructuring process.
“In Vlora, with the political leaders of this region, we set out to reorganize and modernize the Democratic Party and political action, to offer Albanians a strong, efficient opposition and the alternative they expect and deserve,” Basha said.
“Poor citizens, high corruption. This is the reality we are living in, such as the Incinerator Affair File, where the government is responsible for an embezzlement of 430 million euros from citizens’ pockets,” Basha continues.
The head of the Democratic Party said that a parliamentary investigation will be requested for the IPARD funds.
“Brussels’ decision to suspend grants for agriculture from the IPARD program shows the greed of this government, which also abuses EU funds.
The end of impunity for corruption at the highest echelons is the beginning of the end of the transition and the real change that Albanians are waiting for,” Basha says.
