MoD: Wildfire situation in several hotspots has improved

TIRANA, July 26 / ATA/ The Ministry of Defense, through a press release, informed that the wildfire situation in several areas in the country is improving.

As a result of the relentless work of the civil emergency forces, assisted by the Armed Forces as well as under the coordination of the Civil Protection Agency, the situation in several hotpots in the country has improved.
Meanwhile, the operation is ongoing to bring the fire under control in the Plyk-Kraps-Gjorkos forest massif. In the village of Hekal, in Mallakastër, the situation is under control and the last hotspot is being contained.

“The operation for enclosing the hotspots in the urban landfill in Vlora is ongoing. The work of the emergency forces is difficult because of the terrain in the village of Buz, in the municipality of Memaliaj. The crews have contained the wildfire on the mountain of Gjallica in the Shtiqen administrative unit, in Kukës. The flames in the village of Mandaj, in the Helmas administrative unit in Kavajë, have also been completely contained,” the Ministry of Defense announced.
