TIRANA, June 21 /ATA/ The Ministry of Interior, under the direction of Deputy Minister of Interior, Andi Mahila, on Wednesday held a meeting of the Steering Committee, consisting of the Deputy Ministers of the line ministries for Migration and the Inter-institutional Working Group.
It discussed the implementation of the National Migration Strategy and Action Plan 2019-2022, as well as outlined the vision and a preliminary summary of the specific objectives of the new Strategy 2024-2030.
The members of the Steering Committee, as well as the representatives of the Inter-institutional Working Group, underlined, among others, the need to review the legal basis for labor migration; social/integration services for foreigners in the Republic of Albania; unaccompanied minors; reintegration of returnees; the coordinating mechanism with the local government.
The discussion also focused on the preliminary identification of the main strategic objectives, the methodology and the coordination of the work for the drafting of the National Migration Strategy and Action Plan 2024-2030, with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
