TIRANA, June 16 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that the three Kosovo Police officers must return home and that the solution offered by the Euro-Atlantic community is an historic opportunity on the table, to close a very long and painful chapter and open a new chapter and to make Kosovo an internationally recognized country, not only by those who recognize already, but by everyone, including Serbia.
“There is an immediate need for the three Kosovo Police officers to return home. Beyond the claims that they were detained here or there, something about which KFOR will not provide a public conclusion, but will file the relevant file to the NATO; it is absolutely clear that the three police officers committed no crime. Even if we assume that they have crossed the border line, crossing the border line has only one answer: their return home”, stated PM Rama in the joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán.
Rama said that the Albanian government is focused on this point and that it is using all possible means to achieve this.
“We are focused from the first moment to make this possible and we are using all possible channels to make this happen as soon as possible”, stated Rama.
Regarding the question of finding a common solution, Rama said that the common solution is the solution offered by the Euro-Atlantic community.
“The joint solution is the solution offered by the Euro-Atlantic community, with very clear and immovable points as you see day-to-day de-escalation. And what is most important to our interest is that peace is on the table. The agreement document is on the table. And the historical opportunity is on the table, to close a very long and painful chapter and to open a new chapter and to make Kosovo an internationally recognized country not only by those who recognize it until today but by everyone, also from Serbia”, said Rama.
According to PM Rama, this is a great opportunity.
“So great is this opportunity and so important is this moment in history that all others are the product of an unnecessary diversion from focus,” he continued.
Rama said that the focus is to make final peace on the table.
“And today, the Euro-Atlantic community has given Kosovo a golden opportunity. And the proposal on the table supported by the EU and the US is the best thing that can happen to Kosovo. I can honestly say that the deal that is on the table and this golden opportunity right now is not meant to be there forever. Situations can change, conjunctures can change, dynamics can change and then we can enter another long time in history where we will have no choice. I am 100% focused on this solution. The others can be pills of exaltation for those who identify themselves as patriots in imaginary wars, but they bring nothing but disappointment, emptiness and loss of time and far from even the opportunity”, said Rama./p.s./
