Government dissolves Transparency Board

TIRANA, June 7 /ATA/ -Albanian government has decided  to dissolve the Transparency Board, a body set up by the government last year in a bid to curb any speculation on fuel prices amid the energy crisis due to the war in Ukraine last year.

The Minister of Finance and Economy Delina Ibrahimaj announced the government decision to dissolve the fuel price watchdog following a regular cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

According to Ibrahimaj, the decision to dissolve the Board was made after the energy and fuel prices have stabilized in the international markets over the past months.

The watchdog was established to provide transparency and keep fuel prices under control in the domestic market after global fuel prices soared due to the war in Ukraine.
