TIRANA, June 3/ATA/ The Chairperson of the Parliamentary group of the Socialist Party Taulant Balla reacted after the approval two days ago by the European Parliament of a report that focused on measures against foreign interference in EU member countries through disinformation, cyber-attacks and disruption of critical infrastructure.
Through a post on social media, Balla reminded that the Assembly of Albania approved a resolution on foreign interference in national democratic processes in December 2019. “Now, it is the right time to set up a Special Commission of the Assembly of Albania on foreign interference in the democratic processes.
According to Balla, this commission should have the purpose of collecting information on cases made public or other cases on financing of parties and political actors from financial sources connected to countries unfriendly to Albania. In the same way like the European Parliament, the object of this Commission’s work should also be the disinformation campaigns, which, like in EU countries, are maliciously financed by Russia or any other country. /p.s./
