TIRANA, May 17 /ATA/ The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is supporting the growth of agricultural production in parallel with the addition of collection points and agro-processing according to the best standards, which add value to the product up to the final consumer.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, said that, “The National Support Scheme, the IPARD program, are exactly the right instrument that supports the reduction of production costs, the increase of domestic agricultural production and the establishment of collection points and agro-processing.”
“Investments in collection points, storage spaces and cooling rooms on farms are a necessity for facilitating the work of farmers and creating the right conditions for storing products,” said Krifca.
The minister estimated that the increase in the number of collection points has a significant impact on increasing exports of agricultural products, meeting the requirements for quality and safety in the foreign market as well.
Krifca provided statistics and facts about tangible investments in this sector that have facilitated farmers’ access to value-added markets.
Thanks to the IPARD II program, 76 investments have been made in our country to increase the storage capacities of agricultural and livestock products on farms, contributing to the improvement of production standards and quality.
Meanwhile, IPARD III will increase the amount of support for new investments in collection, processing and packaging centres for agricultural products.
