TIRANA, May 14 /ATA/ The acting chairman of the Democratic Party, Enkelejd Alibeaj, after casting the ballot in the local elections, said: “I invite every honest Albanian, with a free spirit, who does not submit to intimidation and seduction, to exercise the right to vote today to their heart’s content.”
Alibeaj voted in the voting center at the “Economic” vocational high school in local government unit no. 2 in Tirana.
In a media statement after casting the ballot, Alibeaj said that “the choice is easy for anyone today. I have a message for all democrats out there, for all honest Albanians, for free Albanians, who today must exercise their constitutional right to vote in a calmness and maturity in order to break with the past. Today is the day that the Albanians, those who maybe even in previous moments, long ago, did not come, refused to vote, today is the day to come and break with the past and this is in the hands of the Albanians.”
“The DP result will be a success for the democrats and the DP. There is an old 33-year old alliance of this politics that has dragged this country down, causing a feeling of rejection and disgust for politics. That’s why my call is what I said a little while ago, today no one can sit back and relax there are many motives, a thousand and one motives for people to stand up, above all the number one motive is to change how Albania should look like tomorrow, as is disengagement with the past”, said Alibeaj.
