TIRANA, May 12 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama, also leader of the governing Socialist Party, said that the north-western Albanian city of Shkoder has been the biggest “loser” in the last three decades as “the vote has always been cast in the wrong direction.”
Addressing a closing campaign meeting for the Sunday’s local elections in Shkoder, the Premier said that the north-western region has been the biggest loser as local residents have unhesitatingly voted for former PM Sali Berisha.
“No other region or city has lost more than Shkoder, because nobody else but Shkoder has blindly and unhesitatingly supported Berisha. Shkoder has lost more than everyone else, because despite its tremendous potential, it actually has less than every other city today. Shkoder is home to rivers, mountains, sea and the Alps to develop tourism like no other city around the country,” he said.
PM Rama said that the vote has failed to deliver.
