TIRANA, May 10/ATA/ The solemn opera “George Kastrioti Skanderbeg-Overlord of Arberia” by academic composer Vasil Tole was put on the stage of the Opera and Ballet House on the evening of May 9, thus marking its world premiere.

Today, Composer Tole thanked the protagonists, the public and the media who forwarded this creation of his, writing on social networks: “Thank you to all of you who helped George Kastrioti Skanderbeg win this “battle” too. .

The creator of the piece thanked the “new Skanderbeg”, as he called the new soloists Artur Vera and Gerald Murrja. Special thanks also went to soprano Eva Golemi and the young talent Amelda Papa.

Tole created the work on occasion of the 550th anniversary of Skanderbeg’s death, to show the life and eternity of the National Hero in a work that speaks Albanian.

The motive of staging this work for the well-known composer and musicologist Vasil Tole is to aim to restore the tradition of Albanian opera and ballet, which has been forgotten for more than 35 years.

The libretto of the solemn opera and the spirit of its composition are based on some motifs of the well-known work of Fan S. Noli “Skanderbeg – King of Albania”.

In essence, the solemn opera is the union of the genre of the dramatic Opera with the Solemn Mass. The opera is conceived in two acts. Both the narration and the musical register suit these two parts, which complement each other in a different way.

This opera unites musically the traditional and the world classic. /gj.m/p.s./
