TIRANA, May 1 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, spoke on Monday about the merger of some courts of first instance during the second phase of the judicial map.
In a media briefing, Meta emphasized that Rama justice reform, which is not congruous with all the changes made 7 years ago, is undermining the citizens’ access to justice.
“From today, tens of thousands of citizens will be deprived of the opportunity to follow up their cases in the courts and the prosecutor’s offices. From today, unfortunately, the First Instance Courts will be closed in Lushnja, in Pogradec, in Kavaja, in Kurbin, in Mat, Tropoja, Përmet, etc. Rama-run justice reform, in opposition to all the changes made 7 years ago, is undermining citizens’ access to justice, exacerbating delays, bureaucracies and increasing costs to leave them without justice,” he said.
Also, Meta said that the new judicial map is an anti-reform, as it does not take into account the distance of citizens from the courts and transport constraints.
