TIRANA, April 18 /ATA/ – Various images of Albania’s cultural heritage sites were displayed on the façade of the landmark Polytechnic University building in Tirana on Tuesday.
The images were displayed as part of events to celebrate the International Day for Monuments and Archaeological Sites.
Every year on April 18, people celebrate World Heritage Day, also known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites.
This day is dedicated to promoting the importance of cultural heritage and raising awareness about the need to preserve historical sites and monuments across the globe, approved by UNESCO’s 22nd General Conference in 1983.
World Heritage Day encourages us to celebrate all the world’s cultures, and to bring awareness to important cultural monuments and sites, and to espouse the importance of preserving the world’s cultures.
