TIRANA, April 12 /ATA/ The 10-year bond yield fell sharply at this week’s auction.
The auction of 10-year bonds issued in January this year re-opened on Tuesday. According to data from the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE), the accepted uniform yield of these instruments dropped to 6.6%, from 7.6% in the January auction.
Investors showed high interest yet again and the amount of requests in the auction reached 7.1 billion ALL, from 3 billion ALL the amount announced for financing by MoFE. Even in this case, MoFE decided to increase the accepted amount by the allowed maximum of 15%, bringing it to ALL 3.45 billion.
High liquidity in the financial sector is also playing an important role in lowering yields, increasing competition among investors for government bonds.
