TIRANA, Feb 23 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ The Democratic Party supports all the demands of the lecturers who seek increased budget for higher education and scientific research.
In a media statement, the head of the Department of Education, Science and Innovation, Lili Sula, said that, “the Democratic Party has closely followed the protest of the lecturers, the assistant academic and administrative staff and considers their demands to be fair and completely doable.”
“We fully support the demand of the lecturers and for a period of 10 years the government should cover the full tuition fees for higher education. Amid this severe crisis that the university world is going through, where most of the auditoriums are empty, while the rest are coping with a sharp decrease in the number of students, it is necessary to cover the tuition fee for higher education. In this long 10-year period marred by national historical drama, massive depopulation of the country, emigration like no other of the young generation – the most rejuvenating force of the nation that is building its future and investing knowledge in other countries – reimbursement of the fee for higher education is our obligation,” she said.
