TIRANA, February 21 /ATA/ The work of art “Thicket” by sculptor Sadik Spahija has already been erected at the roundabout at the exit of Koplik.
This poetic sculpture reflects a mixture of nature with metal, wood and greenery leaving a good taste for all the travelers traversing this national axis which is being enriched with such works of art.
“Thicket” has been announced as one of the winning works of the “Art in Public Space” International Competition, coordinated by the Ministry of Culture, in support of independent artists.
In the International Competition “Art in Public Spaces” there were presented 132 proposals of creators from different countries of the world.
“Art in Public Space” is an initiative for which the Albanian government has allocated a fund of about 200 million ALL.
Minister Margariti has stated that the works of art will be placed in the designated spaces in Malesia e Madhe, Tirana, Divjaka and Kavaja.
There have already been identified 18 public spaces (1 public institution – hospital), 12 roundabouts, 4 overpasses, 1 infrastructure node). /gj.m/p.s./
